On Saturday I was in the front seat of a pale blue 1973 vw beetle with a bride and groom in the back, being driven fast along the country lanes around Helmsley. We were on our way to Rievaulx Abbey to shoot some wedding pictures for Becky and Dave. I hear Becky whisper to Dave ” I cant believe we actually got to do this!”
We had planned to shoot pictures at the Abbey but as always you never know what the weather will do. We were blessed with perfect weather on their wedding day and everything just came together – we had the place to ourselves, the sun began to slide down in the sky and the light was just magical.
In fact the whole day was just magical. The Feversham Arms at Helmsley, North Yorkshire was the venue for the day. Dave and Becky booked out the whole place exclusively decorating it with stunning cream flowers by Garden of Eden florists in York, candles in pretty glass holders and gold touches everywhere. Guests enjoyed drinks in the sunshine by the twinkling pool.
The colour theme was gold and everything looked beautiful. The presents had gold ribbons, the guest book was gold, the bridesmaids wore a lovely subtle champagney gold . The cake was individual cupcakes that Becky had handmade herself all in sweet gold bun cases.The chairs in the reception had stunning gold ribbons.
I love the way Becky wrinkles her nose when she laughs sometimes!
